Lock 63, Misterton Top Lock, Chesterfield Canal

In order to complete the urgent repairs to the mitres and heel posts at Lock 63, we have had to arrange fabrication of new steel plates for the tie bars. 

We are currently awaiting delivery of the plates and, as a result, we will have to extend the closure until Wednesday, 5th February, to enable them to be fitted and the navigation re-opened. 

We apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

Urgent arising works are required to the lock gates at Lock 63, including repairs to the mitres and heel posts.

The gates will be removed to enable the repairs to be carried out and the navigation will be closed for the duration of the works.
