Please be advised the restriction has been lifted and the pontoon will be removed from the canal today. However, due to restricted railway access, the scaffolding will remain whilst the third-party contractors continue with the bridge replacement works. The minimum clearance of 2.7m above the towpath will be maintained.
We politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors onsite.
Description
Following on from the planned winter works at Rail Bridge 2A, Rufford Branch of the Leeds and Liverpool canal, third party contractors will remain on site to continue the replacement of the bridge.
We politely request all customers to listen to any advice that may be given by the onsite banksmen and to expect a wait of no more than 30 minutes whilst the contractors move their equipment out the way to allow for a safe passage.
