Our teams have been on site over the weekend, installed temporary fabric dams, carried out a fish rescue and dewatered the canal to be able to carry out a full investigation of culvert 126.
It has been decided that the planned Winter Works for the repair of Culvert 126, between Bridges 64 and 65 on the Leeds and Liverpool canal, will be brought forward. The canal and towpath will remain closed whilst the works are carried out.

Please be advised the towpath and navigation is currently closed at culvert 126 between Bridge 65 and Bridge 64 on the Leeds and Liverpool canal due to a culvert failure. Our local engineers have been informed and are on their way to site.
An update on Monday 21st October will be provided once the local engineers have been to site and assessed a plan for repair.
