The repairs at Beeston Iron Lock have been successfully completed. However, we are unable to remove the dams as planned due to the availability of our contractors following from the recent flooding.
As a result we need to extend this stoppage by one day when we hope to be able to open the navigation.
Please accept our apologies and we appreciate your patience during these difficult conditions.
Description
In order to investigate and reduce the leakage at Lock 11, Beeston Iron Lock, we have programmed a closure to coincide with other stoppages in the area.
Our local Reactive Response Team will carry out the work to include investigation of the tailgate cill condition and replacement of the tailgate mitre liners.
