Dredging, along with associated bank repairs and tree works are being carried out in the Titford Pools area.  A silt screen will be placed across the canal at Jarvis Bridge (Wolverhampton Road) to reduce the amount of suspended solids passing downstream.  This will prevent access for boaters wishing to enter the Titford Pools area.

Boaters will need to use the winding hole 500m to the east of the pools at Uncle Ben’s Bridge.  The canal towpath and footpaths around the pools area will remain open, with the exception of working areas.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Description

Dredging, along with associated bank repairs and tree works will be carried out in the Titford Pools area from the week commencing 16th September.  Prior to dredging operations, fish will be removed from the pools and a silt screen will be placed across the canal at Jarvis Bridge (Wolverhampton Road) Bridge to reduce the amount of suspended solids passing downstream and also to prevent fish from migrating back into the pools.

We ask boaters to please use the winding hole 500m to the east of the pools at Uncle Ben’s Bridge.  The silt curtain will be removed by 31st January, once the dredging is complete.

The canal towpath and footpaths around the pools area will remain open, with the exception of working areas.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
