Works have been completed and the footbridge is now open.

The fabrication works to the new steps has been delayed. Weather permitting we anticipate the footbridge will be open on Wednesday 18th December.
We will update this notice on Wednesday.

A redesign of the steps is taking place, resulting in a delay to the footbridge opening.
We will update this notice when the bridge is open.

Final checks are being completed on the footbridge which we hope to be finalised and the bridge completed on 29th November.

The lock gate repair works has been completed and the foot bridge is now fixed in position awaiting the steps to be installed.
Navigation is now possible without any anticipated delays.

The water levels have dropped and Ferrybridge is now navigable under the restriction of the ongoing repairs.
Please be advised navigation may be delayed for around 30 to 45 minutes whilst the works or any lifting operations are taking place.
Please can members of the public follow any instructions given by our on-site Canal and River Trust staff.

Please note that due to the recent rainfall the river levels are still in flood and the Ferrybridge lock gates remain closed to navigation.
We will issue an update when the river levels have reduced and navigation is possible.

Due to the current high water levels the work to install the bridge has stopped. The works will continue when the levels have lowered.

The river levels are currently in flood and due to the ongoing repairs to one of the lock gates Ferrybridge Lock is currently closed to navigation.

These works have been extended in order to carry out extra repair works which are necessary to the lock gate.
Description
Works are being carried out as follows;
- Replace footbridge over the lock.
- Replace fendering in the lock
- Repairs to one of the low side lock gates.
Please be advised navigation may be delayed for around 30 to 45 minutes whilst the works or any lifting operations are taking place.
