York - River Ouse Foss Junction

York City Council have asked the Trust to make skippers aware of the following works on the River Foss

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOSS NAVIGATION

The Environment Agency are undertaking a survey and inspection of the Foss Barrier in readiness for work to be carried out next year.  As a result the Foss Navigation will be closed for a 2 week period from the week commencing 5th August 2019.  There will be no access into Foss Basin during this time.

Following the survey, the EA are to carry out works to the barrier, which will involve the width through the     barrier being reduced to 4.5m. This will commence 19th August and will last for four weeks.
