Lock 65 to Lock 82, Manchester, Rochdale Canal

Following the completion of the repairs to Locks 71, 79 & 82, we are pleased to advise that the canal and towpath are now open to our customers.

Bridge 82 to 83: The project for the wash walls and the towpath repairs have been deferred and will form part of a larger enterprise project at a later date which is still to be confirmed.

Between Lock 65 and Lock 82, carry out repairs as follows.

Bridge 82 to 83: washwall and towpath repairs.

Lock 71: repairs to the top gate and cill to reduce leakage.  

Lock 79, Coal Pit Middle: repair leakage through tail gate cill.

Lock 82, Great Ancoats Street: repair fenders and dislodged timber.

Please note the amended scope of works included in this stoppage.
