Hertfordshire County Council has requested a delay to the start of the stoppage at Ravens Lane Road Bridge, Berkhamsted, where they will carry out major refurbishment and strengthening works to the underside of the bridge.
The navigation will now be closed from 3rd February 2020 but the end date of the closure will not be affected.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this short notice of the change of start date may cause to those boating and using the towpath in the area.

Hertfordshire County Council’s contractors will carry out major refurbishment and strengthening works at Bridge 142, Ravens Land Road Bridge, as previously planned.
However, repairs to Bridge 140C, Lower Kings Road Bridge, have not been confirmed.
The dates of this closure are not affected by the change.

Hertfordshire County Council contractors will be carrying out major refurbishment and strengthening works to the underside of the canal crossing road bridge.
