Stourport Narrow Locks 3 & 4, Stourport-On-Severn, Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal

The repairs and gate replacements being undertaken at Locks 3 and 4, Stourport Narrow Locks, will now be carried out under restriction as the navigation will be kept open through the adjacent Top and Bottom Barge Locks for the duration of the works. 

Please note, Locks 3 and 4 will be closed and out of operation during this time.

The works originally planned for Locks 1 and 2 will be postponed until later in 2020.  This will take advantage of lower water levels which will enable fabric dams to be safely used so repairs to the stop plank grooves can be undertaken at the same time.

We will issue a separate stoppage notice for Locks 1 and 2 as soon as local consultation has taken place and the dates for these works are confirmed.

Essential repair works will be carried out along this section at the Narrow Locks.  

This will include gate replacements, chamber brickwork, sandstone, and ladder repairs at Lock 1.

Gate replacements and repairs, paddle chamber and ladder repairs at Lock 2.

At Lock 3 we will be undertaking Brickwork, stonework, and ladder repairs.

Gate replacements and repairs, and ladder works will be taking place at Lock 4. 

The Navigation will be closed for the duration.
