Railway Bridge, Winson Green, Soho Loop

The canal and towpath at Winson Green Bridge are now open, as planned, following the refurbishment of the railway bridge.

However, Network Rail need to carry out additional works to replace a steel beam above the towpath. 

The navigation and towpath will remain open but banksmen and signage will be used to manage customers through the works.

Network Rail are to complete a major refurbishment of Winson Green Bridge which includes steelwork and brickwork repairs, localised painting of the structure and vegetation removal.

To complete the works safely the entire bridge will require extensive scaffolding.

Please note the end date of this stoppage is beyond our normal winter closure period due to Network Rail's fixed programme.
