Bridge 20, Coxhead Swing Bridge, Leeds and Liverpool Canal

We are pleased to advise repairs are now complete and navigation has resumed at Bridge 20, Coxhead Swing Bridge on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

After speaking with our contractors, we have organised the following manual swinging of Bridge 20, Coxhead Swing Bridge to allow customer passage.

We request customers who wish to pass through to arrive promptly at 12pm on each of the following days;

Saturday 27 April.

Thereafter every Monday and Friday until a repair is completed.

Customers with a Liverpool Link/Salthouse Dock Booking, please make sure you leave yourself with enough time to allow passage through Bridge 20. Those who wish to rearrange your booking, please do so online, or by calling our Customer Service team on 03030 404040.

Please be advised following inspections by our team, navigation will remain closed here at Bridge 20, Coxhead Swing Bridge. The damage caused is so severe, that at this present time we are unsure of the timescale of the repair, however we anticipate this could be for several weeks.

Our team are currently on site removing the mechanisms uncovered by the vehicle impact to reduce the risk of further vandalism, theft or weather damage.

We are working alongside the police and helping their investigation. We are urging anyone who may have witnessed this act of vandalism to call Customer Services on 03030 404040 with any information.

Please be advised following vandalism to the control unit, navigation is closed at Bridge 20, Coxhead Swing Bridge on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

An update will be provided once our team have been to site to inspect the severity of the damage caused.

Please be advised our team are onsite facilitating works to the offside landing stage. Whilst these works are ongoing, and the team are onsite, single handed boaters will be assisted with passage through the bridge by the team onsite. We anticipate customers may incur short delays while the team cease works, to allow for safe passage.

The team will be onsite between 8.30am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

We politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by the team onsite.
