Contractors have informed us that further pontoon works are ongoing due to the refurbishment of the Bridge.

We have been advised by contractors working on behalf of the Council that works have been extended until 24 March.
Works will also now include scaffolding at each elevation of the bridge.
Scaffolding will be above arch level and will not restrict navigation.
Description
AE Yates will be painting, cleaning and refurbishing a local authority bridge. They will be cleaning and painting underneath the bridge in sections using a 6m x 6m pontoon across the navigation.
Boaters and other navigation traffic who may be passing by might be delayed for up to 20 minutes to enable the pontoon to move out of the way.
