Updates

10/08/2018 15:02

Due to heavy rainfall today water levels are at a point where the locks are now navigable, therefore boat passage is now possible.

Due to the change in operating hours this will restrict the amount of boats that can use the locks and this will be managed on a first come first serve basis by the Lock Keepers on site.

Passage down in the morning will be between 10am and 12pm.

Passage up in the afternoon will be between 1pm and 3pm.

Please liaise with the lock keepers once you are on site about passage through the locks.

Our lock keepers will keep customers fully informed.

Local staff are continuing to manage the available water to bring the low levels back up to normal.

Rain is forecast over the weekend therefore we anticipate we will be able to give an update on Monday.

In the meantime local staff on site will be able to prove the latest situation and will assist boats on site as soon as possible.

Description

Due to vandalism of the locks, there is currently not enough water for boats to navigate between Newlay and Kirkstall locks. Our operational team will do everything they can to restore water levels back to normal
