A replacement pump for Perry Well has been sourced and installation will be completed on Friday afternoon. At the latest, the canal will be open on Monday morning with the potential to be open sooner depending on how well the refill goes. We will update the notice over the weekend if we are able to achieve the earlier opening time.

The critical water supply pump at Perry Well which supplies water to the B&F canal has failed, this also affects the canal level that feeds the Bowyer St pump. As a result, we are struggling to get water to both the B&F canal and the stretch of the GU canal between Camphill Locks and Knowle (commonly known as the 10 mile). Therefore, we reluctantly need to close the GU between Knowle and Camphill to preserve the B&F canal.
We advise boaters to leave the GU canal at Lapworth and use the North Stratford as an alternative route.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Description
Due to a broken pump at Bowyer Street and the continued hot weather, the only remaining pump is struggling to maintain the water levels between Camphill and Knowle (Commonly known as the 10 Mile).
The broken pump will be fixed as soon as possible but in the meantime, we advise deep drafted boats to look for an alternative route whilst this issue remains.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
