Elland Bridge - Lifting of pre cast arch sections.

Lifting of the pre cast arch sections into position will take place at Elland bridge.

Contractors will lift the arch sections by crane every day between 26 September and 2 October.

The concrete arch sections have a metal rod cast into them for strengthening during the lift and which is a boat height once in position.  This has to remain whilst the grout sets after which the rod will be cut out, fast setting grout will be used.

For safety reasons boat passage will not be available whilst the arches are lifted into position and the metal rods are removed, between 10 am and 4 pm each day.
