The repair work to the Skew Bridge has been re-scheduled to take place in August.  They will be using a High Level scaffold system to access the brick parapets on the bridge abutments.

The navigation channel on the west side of the bridge will be reduced because of this work and the towpath will be closed for 2 days whilst this scaffold is erected.  The navigation to the east side of the bridge will be closed for 3 days whilst this work is carried out.

The towpath under the bridge will be closed for 1 week with diversion signs in place whilst this work is being carried out.  The navigation will be open the entire duration of this works, but with signs and banks man to direct traffic through the work.

Description

Network Rail Contractors are installing a Scaffold structure to facilitate Investigatory, General Repair and Platform Extension works to the Bath Railway Station Train Platforms.

The High Level Works Scaffold installation is anticipated to take 6-weeks with the Scaffold remaining in place for the works until August 2017.

The Towpath under the Railway Bridge will be closed for 1-week to facilitate the Erecting of the Scaffold around the West Abutment.

The Navigation will be Open and Reasonably Unaffected by the Works
