The completion of the towpath improvement works at Devizes between Prison Bridge and Devizes Town Bridge has been slightly delayed. We had hoped to be able to re-open the towpath on Friday 13th May, but due to the requirement to undertake repairs to the canal bank between Lock 49-50, the works are now scheduled to be completed and the towpath re-opened on Friday 27th May. The canal itself will continue to remain open for boating customers.

To enable works to improve the towpath between Locks 47 to 50 at Caen Hill, Devizes, there will be no mooring permitted within this length from Monday 14th March to Saturday 7th May.
Please note that while the towpath is closed and mooring not permitted, the navigation will remain open
