Between Bridge 26 Stanley Road Bridge and Bridge 35 Turnover Bridge

Towpath improvement works along this section have now been extended until 28th February 2015.  Navigation restrictions will be in place between bridges 26 and 35.

Towpath Improvements works along this section have been extended until 22nd December.

The towpath improvement works will be extending up to Bridge 35, Turnover Bridge as of today and the towpath will therefore be closed due to public safety and the navigation restricted.

To clarify, the towpath is only open between Bridges 26 and 31 and between 31 and 35 is closed. The navigation is restricted between bridges 26-35.

The towpath is now open between bridges 26 and 31 only, the navigation remains restricted.

From 27th August the towpath improvement works will be extending up to Bridge 33, Brick Kiln Bridge and the towpath will therefore be closed due to public safety and the navigation restricted.

The work boundary has now been extended up to Bridge 31, Park Lane Bridge due to works being completed ahead of schedule.

The work boundary has now been extended slightly from bridge 27 to bridge 28 Post Lane Bridge, as an extra team has been added to improve efficiencies on the project.

Contractors working on behalf of Staffordshire County Council will be undertaking towpath improvement works between Bridges 26 (Stanley Road Bridge) and Bridge 27 (Doles Bridge) on the Caldon Canal. The works will require the towpath to be closed throughout the duration of the project for public safety.

The navigation will be restricted by work boats within this area but passable by single file boat traffic. Assistance will be available to guide users through the working area when the contractors are completing works adjacent to the locks.
