Coseley Tunnel to Wallbrook Bridge

Last year the embankment at Coseley Tunnel slipped causing trees and earth to move down the slope and across the towpath. Work has been completed to remove the trees and open the canal to boats, however there is still a considerable amount of earth on the towpath, and the bank above remains very unstable. The work to remove this material and stabilise the slope is planned to take place between November 2014 and March 2015. In the meantime, the towpath closure and diversion around the site will remain in place for safety reasons. A full navigation closure may be necessary during the works, however further information will be provided in due course. The navigation remains open and unaffected at this time.

UPDATE (27 March 2013): The Navigation is now open. The Towpath remains closed, however there is a diversion in place. ----------------------------------------------------
