The walkway has now been reopened again.

The timber walkway under the Railway Bridge at
Consall Forge has started to deteriorate and for safety reasons has been closed. An inspection has revealed the bearing timbers have gone rotten and requires replacement.
A project to replace the walkway is being
planned and we will update users accordingly.
Description
We have been made aware that bridge 50A Consall Forge has deteriorated rapidly, because of this we have had to close the towpath at this location.
Signage is in place locally to notify towpath users.
Work to repair the damage is planned and we will update users accordingly.
