The third-party contractors have now completed their repair to the third-party wall between Bridge 38, Black Road Bridge and Bridge 37, Buxton Road Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal.
To ensure the safety of our customers, before the towpath can be re-opened to access, a final inspection of the wall has been arranged for Monday 1 August.
A further update will be provided by Tuesday 2 August.

Please be advised third party contractors have started works to repair the third-party wall between Bridge 38, Black Road Bridge and Bridge 37, Buxton Road Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal.
To ensure the safety of our towpath users, the towpath will remain closed. Despite a small delay, works are expected to finish later this month and an update will be provided by Friday 29 July.

Please be advised, for the safety of our users, the towpath between Bridge 38, Black Road Bridge and Bridge 37, Buxton Road Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal remains closed as discussions continue in relation to the collapsed section of retaining wall.
