Due to complications on first attempt, third-party contractors will onsite to remove the pipe on the 19 March till, and inclusive of, 22 March.

The 3-day towpath closure has now been confirmed to be 5th Tuesday March to Friday 8th March, towpath access will not be permitted between these dates.

Please be also advised there may be restricted towpath use on the 9 and 10 March, please listen to any advice that may be given by the onsite third-party contractors.

Please be advised, these works have been brought forward. The dates for these works are now 18 February till, and inclusive of, the 18 March.

The specific 3-day towpath closure is yet to be confirmed.

Description

Third party contractors will be onsite between 28 February and 29 March to remove a gas pipe attached to Bridge 130B, Manchester Road Bridge on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Towpath users are advised that a 3-day closure will be required within this 4-week period. Due to the nature of the works, dates of the 3-day closure will be finalised closer to the time, please accept this advanced online stoppage as notice.

A towpath diversion will be provided and towpath users are asked to follow any guidance given from the onsite third-party contractors.

An update will be provided once the dates of the 3-day towpath closure have been secured.
