Third party contractors have successfully completed the demolition of the building adjacent to Ollershaw Lane Bridge and the navigation and towpath are now open.
Description:

Third party contractors will be demolishing an unsafe building alongside the towpath at Ollershaw Lane bridge.

The towpath is already closed for safety reasons and an exclusion zone has been implemented around the building.  The demolition has been scheduled to coincide with existing stoppages on this section of the canal.

The demolition is expected to take up to one week and the contractor will be using a full-width temporary pontoon across the canal to protect the canal from debris during demolition.

Visitor moorings on both sides of the bridge are to be suspended during the works.
