Our teams and contractors have been able to locate the source of the leak at the culvert between bridges 52 and 53 on the Macclesfield canal.
The repair has now been carried out. The stop planks will be removed and we will be bringing the canal back to navigable levels throughout the day.
The Bosley Flight will re-open on restricted passage times of 8am - 1pm from Saturday morning, 13th October.
Description
Due to a leak through a culvert located between bridges 52 and 53 on the Macclesfield canal. We regrettably have had to install stop planks at these bridges and close the canal. We plan to start undertaking repairs to the damaged culvert tomorrow and we will be able to provide a further update tomorrow afternoon.
