Update

A post dredge survey carried out on 21st February indicated that a total of 19,900 m3 of sediment has been removed and clearly shows where further dredging is required.

It is proposed to re-commence dredging during the w/e 15th March. Due to environmental constraints we are not permitted to use the suction dredger during this period and will return to using conventional excavator dredging.

If you require further information or advice, please contact the Gloucester Dock Office on 01452 318012 or at [email protected].

Thank you.

Dredging works will commence at Gloucester Docks during January and February 2019. Contractors working on behalf of Canal and River Trust will carry this out out in the Gloucester Basin and on the canal immediately south of Llanthony Bridge.

An comprehensive Advice Notice will be distributed to boaters once we can confirm the works schedule.

In the meantime we are regularly appraising the situation.

Description

We are currently experiencing a build-up of silt in the main Gloucester Basin.

Available depth ranges from 1.50m to 2.00m across the basin. We are in the process of looking to bring forward our planned January dredging programme in response to this situation.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and advise boaters to exercise caution navigating the basin.
