Description

Essential maintenance and inspection works have been planned at Castleford Weir and Fish Pass. The works will require a reduction in water levels at the following locations:

Woodnook Lock to Castleford Junction

Lemonroyd Lock to Castleford  Junction

Maintenance teams will be lowering the water level in these sections to facilitate works to the weir.

Passage will still be possible throughout the works between Lemonroyd and Woodnook Locks for vessels with a draught of no more than 1.0m.

Vessels navigating between Lemonroyd and Woodnook Locks should do so with caution, remaining in the centre channel.

Owners of craft moored within the affected areas detailed above should ensure they adjust mooring lines to compensate for the changes in water level. Staff will be on site to monitor water levels.
