Northampton Arm - Update 28/10/18

Water levels & supply to the Northampton Arm have recovered sufficiently, enabling us to remove the restrictions currently inplace on the Arm.

Locking off the gates at Locks 1, 12 & 17 on the Northampton Arm will cease as of Sunday 28th October.

17/08/2018 16:52

Due to exceptionally dry weather during the last three months some of our canal feeding reservoirs are lower than we would normally expect for this time of year.

The recent rainfall has not significantly changed this situation. As the dry weather is set to continue into the autumn, we are taking steps now to reduce water usage by closing the canal overnight.

The following locks will be locked shut: 1,12 and 17. Boats wishing to moor within the flight should only do so between locks 12 and 17.

We will monitor the situation and update the website accordingly.

Canal Opening Times are 9am to 6pm.

Last entry to the Northampton Arm at lock 17 is 3.30pm, please also note that the lock flight from 1 to 12 will also be closed at 3:30pm
