Works to remove the canopy which overhangs the towpath to commence on Saturday 1 September, with the towpath due to re-open on Monday 3 September once the area has been made safe.
Description
Please be aware the towpath is closed due to a structure failure of an overhanging building. The Canal and River Trust are working with the owners of the hanger to ensure it is made safe as soon as possible.
Please use local signposted diversions and contact us for any updates.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused , we are unsure of any timescales for re-opening until a full structural assessment is carried out.
Updates will be posted as soon as they are available.
Mooring is suspended on the towpath under the hangar for safety reasons.
