The replacement bridge has been installed but is currently not operational.

It is envisaged that the works will be completed by the 18th September, therefore passage is restricted to boats with an airdraft of 3m or less.

Description:

Canary Wharf Contractors are at the final stage of the installation of the new Montgomery bridge lifting system.

This will involve floating in the lifting span of the bridge on a barge through West India Dock Lock entrance to its location within the Bellmouth Passage.

During critical positioning boat movements will not be possible until the bridge is in position and the lifting mechanism is operational.
