EU Networks are continuing to undertake excavation works to install new telecommunication cables along the towpath between Bridge 191, Trout Road Bridge, Yiewsley & Bridge 152, Albion Bridge, Hemel Hempstead. These works are due to be completed by the end of August.

As a result of the works, towpath access will be restricted. A pedestrian diversion around the works will be in place via 50m long floating pontoons located in the canal. The floating pontoon will be progressively moved, North to South. Banksmen will be on hand to assist pedestrians along the pontoon. Cyclists will be required to dismount when navigating along the pontoon.

Care should be taken along sections of towpath where a temporary surface dressing is present, until final reinstatement is completed.

Snagging will start week commencing 13/08/18 for 3 weeks until the end of August by which time all affected towpath surfaces will be reinstated.

The canal navigation shall remain open throughout the works.  Moorings will be suspended on a rolling programme to facilitate the siting of the pontoon. Please observe local signage.

EU Networks will be undertaking excavation works to install new telecommunication cables along the towpath.

As a result of the works, towpath access will be restriced. A pedestrican diversion around the works will be in place via 50m long floating pontoons located in the canal.

The floating pontoon will be progressively moved as the works are undertaken for an anticipated duration of 3 months. Banksman will be on hand to assit pedestrians along the pontoon. Cyclists should be prepared to dismount.

The canal navigation will remain open and un affected by the works.
