Access to the Barrage slipway is currently unavailable as contractors are still undertaking remedial work along Navigation way.

The slipway will re-open at 18.00 on Friday 20/04/2018.

Access to the river is temporally available at CTC marine slipway in Stockton until 16.00.

Can skippers of all craft please call at the Barrage office to license their boats and to receive contact details and directions for the alternative slipway.

Contractors responsible for the remedial works on Navigation Way have informed the Trust that despite assurances that access would be available to the slipway this is not presently possible because of technical reasons.

Please note Navigation Way is not presently available for access to the barrage slipway.

Canal & River Trust are working with the contractors to urgently resolve the matter. Canal & River Trust apologise for all inconvenience.

Navigation Way is now open and access to the barrage slipway is available, contractors are still undertaking remedial work.

Any vehicle accessing the barrage slipway via Navigation Way should follow any instructions given by the contractor. As short delay, up to 20min may be necessary for contractors to move plant and equipment.

The Bark Endeavour has now been removed from the downstream lock entrance. The barrage navigation lock is now available for normal locking operations.

Please note vehicle access to the barrage slipway remains closed. Contractors are planning to have access opened by mid-day Monday 16th April.

After a series of technical issues the Bark Endeavour has now been successfully lifted to the downstream side of the barrage lock. Contractors responsible for the removal of the vessel are now waiting for port authority approval before moving the vessel to Middlesborough.

The navigation lock will remain unavailable for navigation until mid-day Saturday 14th April.

Contractors will commence de-rigging the crane and provide vehicle access to the barrage slipway. They are planning to have access to the barrage slipway available by mid-day Monday.

The contractors responsible for the lifting of the Bark Endeavour have informed us of the following...

Due to rain forecast and rising water levels the Bark Endeavour will be moved into the lock entrance at 09:00hrs Wednesday 11th April. The vessel will remain here until 08:30hrs Friday 13th when the lift will be undertaken.

The contractors are planning to complete the lift by mid-day Friday.

The Lock will be closed to navigation from 09:00hrs Wednesday 11th April opening to normal navigation at Mid-day Friday 13th.

Navigation Way and access to the barrage slipway will remain closed and is expected to remain closed until Saturday afternoon. Further details will be issued at Friday 13th mid-day or sooner.

The contractors responsible for the removal of the Bark Endeavour have informed Canal & River Trust they are planning to complete the lift on Thursday 12th April. Final arrangements are yet to be made before this can be confirmed.

Please note the navigation lock remains open for passage of vessels but Navigation Way remains closed, this means there is presently no vehicle access to the barrage slipway.

Due to unforeseen technical issues the lift of the Bark Endeavour has been delayed. The vessel has been removed from the lock approach, and the lock is now available for normal operation.

The lifting contractor and owners are undertaking plans to complete the lift as soon as circumstances permit. This notice will be updated as soon as further information becomes available from the contractor. Canal & River Trust apologise for any inconvenience.

Due to high wind speed the lift has been delayed until 7th April. The lock will remain unavailable for navigation. This notice will be updated as soon as further information becomes available.

There will be no public access along Navigation Way, Lift Bridge and Barrage Foot Bridge.

Confirmation has been received that the operation will now take place on Thursday 05 and Friday 06 April.

Description

The lifting of HM Bark Endeavour is taking place over Tees Barrage Lock.

After consultation with the boat clubs, the lock will be unavailable for use and Navigation Way will be closed. 

Pedestrian access will be stopped during lifting operations.
