Lock 17 East, Westwood, Huddersfield Narrow Canal

Following sudden deterioration of the lock chamber, including the collapse of the offside tail quadrant, repair works which had been planned for future years have been brought forward.  

As this section of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal is already closed for other stoppage works this winter, these works will be delivered simultaneously, to take advantage of the planned closures and avoid any additional disruption. 

Please note the towpath will remain open but users may need to wait to be escorted past the works on occasions.  Please follow guidance on site.
