THIRD PARTY WORKS
The pathway adjacent to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Stanley Locks is currently closed to facilitate works the wall at Great Howard Street. Works include removal of a section of the parapet wall of the A565 (Great Howard St) which is to be reduced in height. The lowered section of the wall will feature a sandstone coping with bronze ‘Leeds & Liverpool Canal’ lettering. There will also be a bronze interpretation panel detailing the history of the canal and the Stanley Flight installed. Please also note that there will also be new set of steps down to the canal path which will be wider than the current steps.
The canal footpath will be closed at the entrance with Great Howard St. There will be a diversion for those wishing to use this entrance/exit connecting at Boundary St or Vauxhall Road.
The closure will be from 08/01/2018 and 05/03/2018.
