Description
Boaters are invited to moor up at Limekiln Lock on the evening of Thursday 19th October and light up your boat as part of the Leicester Diwali celebrations.
Mooring space will be available on a first come, first served basis. There will be a prize awarded to the best illuminated boat and plaques for all boaters attending.
We will also be lighting up Limekiln Lock as part of the festival. To enable us to prepare the site for the event, Limekiln Lock will be closed from 3pm – 10pm on 19th October.
Please arrange to moor up above the lock before 3pm.
Please note that planned stoppages south of Leicester between 9th – 13th and 23rd – 27th may affect your journey.
If you don’t have your own lights but would like to join the event, the Canal & River Trust may be able to help by providing suitable lights / inverters. Please contact the
