Holt Lock River Severn - closed to boat traffic 17th October 2017

Please be advised that the proposed work at Holt Lock is delayed due to adverse weather conditions on Monday 16th October 2017.

Works will now take place on Wednesday 18th October 2017.

The Trust would like to apologise to any customers who may have already changed their boating plans to accommodate this work.

Please be advised that divers will be investigating the causes of the leakage at Holt lock on Tuesday 17th October. The lock will be closed to river traffic from 9:00am and is anticipated to be closed for the whole day. Please listen to advice from Canal and River Trust staff.

It is hoped that the lock will be reopened the following morning.

Please be advised that we are experiencing some leakage at the upstream end of Holt Lock, which may cause boats to be pushed away from the hut side of the chamber whilst mooring. Customers should be prepared and ready to attach their lines promptly on arrival, when travelling upstream.

Please take care not to reach excessively when attaching your lines if affected and always follow the advice of the duty Lock Keeper.
