The obstruction is still buoyed and not causing a problem to navigation.

This underwater obstruction is  approximately halfway between Yarm Jetty and Yarm Road Bridge. The obstruction is 3mtrs from  the south bank, on the Yarm side of the river, and it now has a buoy attached so it can be clearly seen.

Skippers of all craft are advised to slowdown when approaching the area and to stay in the centre channel and avoid passing close to this buoyed underwater obstruction that is close to  the south bank.

Description

Canal & River Trust have received a report of an underwater obstruction approximately halfway between Yarm Jetty and Yarm Road Bridge. The obstruction has been reported to be approximately 9m from the south bank, on the Yarm side of the river, and is approximately 0.6m below the water level.

Canal & River Staff are making plans to inspect the site and if possible remove the obstruction on the 24th August.

Skippers of all craft are advised to slowdown when approaching the area and to stay in the centre channel and avoid passing close to the south bank.
