The stoppage has been extended by one week to take advantage of the closure across the rest of the flight and so allow contractors more time to complete the ladder replacement works.
Description
To remove the existing lock ladder and replace with a new ladder to give a greater tread depth, thereby improving customer safety. The lock chamber needs to be fully de-watered to enable the ladder to be removed and replaced. The depth of the recess will be increased by cutting into the existing lock wall.
