Lock 1, Fearns Leeds , Aire & Calder Canal

Unfortunately our progress on site at Leeds Lock 1 has been severely hampered as a result of flood water levels.  In spite of our team's best efforts, this means we will not be able to complete our work within the original programme. 

It will be necessary, therefore, to extend the closure until 2nd March. 

We will do everything we can to reduce this timescale and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Bottom gates of Lock 1 are to be replaced and lock ladder improved.

Following customer feedback, the works will now be carried out in January/February 2018, in order to keep the navigation open in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
