We love and care for your canals and rivers, because everyone deserves a place to escape.
Enjoy the stories of people that live, visit or work on our canals and rivers.
Laura, Fender Boat, Kennet & Avon Canal
Today's a special day for me because it's nine years today since I bought my boat! I've been making fenders for around six years. I work from my boat, and I live aboard as well.
Joe & Calico Jack, Bradford on Avon
Everyone's welcome to our mini canalside ceilidh dance! People have stopped to join in, dancing with their friends, children and other passers-by.
Keith, Bradford Lock
Come on Josie, do your pose! She's been to the floating Christmas market with us today, but she's getting a bit chilly now. My wife has just gone into the café to get us all something to warm up with!
Steve, Kennet & Avon Canal
I saw somebody selling sweets from their boat a few years ago, and they were doing really well, so that's how I got the idea to start running my Sweet Barge.
Santa, secretly on a canal near you
Grown-ups ask me how I manage to travel over 2,000 miles of canals all on Christmas Eve when the speed limit is 4mph?
Dennis & Charles, Stourport-on-Severn
Over winter Charles and I will miss our jobs at Stourport Basins - It's our patch and we like working together!
We won this narrowboat holiday in a competition! When we won the voucher, Sidney was just a tiny baby, so we decided to keep it until he was bit older and could enjoy it more.
Dave has always been into boats and lived by the canal, so that's how he decided to spend his life working with boats... and I've inherited it!
Christina, Maunsel Lock
Our tea shop eats seven cakes a day in high season! We definitely get through a lot of delicious home-baked cakes. Obviously I have to taste every new cake we get in before I can sell it to any of our customers!
