"My son was only a little boy the last boating holiday we had together. That time we went to the Norfolk Broads which was a bit different. The family has grown since then but there's plenty room in this narrowboat for everyone. The rest of the family are inside the boat at the moment.
I think we must have stopped at every pub along the way. We had one cooked meal on board, but the galley slave mutinied, so we're mainly eating out! We moored up last night and had our evening meal in the Barge Inn and I've heard about Dick and Jane's famous breakfasts at the Lock Inn, so that's a definite plan for tomorrow morning.
We've hired this boat for a week, and set off from Hilperton to Bath six days ago, so we've only got one more day left to enjoy. It's been a really good holiday, people on the canals have been generally very friendly, and even when we've had a bit of mixed weather there's always the iPad to keep everyone happy!
