Go Canoeing Week is all about getting people out on the water. Here at the Trust we know that our canals and river are amazing places to get fit, try something new and have some fun.

The support we get from the public keeps our waterways alive, so National Canoeing Week is the perfect excuse to come and see how you’re helping to make a positive change to your local canals and rivers.

There's loads of stuff happening across the country all week. You can find out exactly what's going on near you at the Go Canoeing website.

It doesn’t matter why you want to do it – getting in a canoe and exploring new places is fun!

With a network of over 2000 miles of canals and rivers, there’s plenty to see! And with special canoe trails across the country, the calm shallow water on your local canal is the perfect place to learn too.

A great way to get around

From the bustling, busy streets you can be onto a calm, cool canal towpath in no time at all. There’s another world to explore, right on your doorstep. So this Go Canoeing Week take a bit of time to take a fresh look at what’s happening on your local waterway.

Whether you’re a beginner, or a seasoned pro – from safe, clean stretches of canal to our specialist canoe slalom course up at the Tees Barrage – there’s something for everyone.
