5km target smashed

My lovely colleague Miriam got me out for a run along the Towpath in Hemel Hempstead, rather wet and a good challenge on the legs with some steep sections at each lock (ever felt like you are running on the spot!)

Sarah Brown training Sarah Brown training

Im being spured on by my new Fitbit, a competition with friends over how many steps I can do in a day, and a great app called BOUNTS.

As an incentive to increase your training for our running events the Canal & River Trust have teamed up with Bounts, the fitness app, to reward people who are training along the Grand Union Canal in Aylesbury with vouchers for a variety of national high street shops such as John Lewis and M&S.

One, two, three go

Here's where I'm at so far:

  • Two new trainers
  • Three park runs complete
  • One four-legged running companion (the dog)
  • A five kilometre target smashed
  • Several new running buddies
  • 12 pounds lost (weight not money)
  • Many Grand Union towpaths trodden
