The museum will be the highlight of any day out in Gloucester Docks. However, there's so much more to see that you can spend an entire day exploring the area.
With its mix of listed warehouses and modern bars and restaurants, Gloucester Docks is a great place for a day out. Once you've explored the museum and taken a boat trip why not stop for a drink at one of its many bars and restaurants?
Other nearby museums include the Tailor of Gloucester, a Beatrix Potter-themed museum and shop and the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum.
There are also plenty of independent shops and many more familiar shops in Gloucester Quays Shopping Centre.
Alternatively you could pack a sandwich, find a bench and watch the waterway world go past. There's always something to see in these busy docks.
