Join us

Boat trips run daily Tuesday to Saturday at 12noon and 1:30pm. You don't need to buy tickets in advance, but if you are visiting as part of a large group or are interested in private hire, please contact us ahead of your journey to check availability.

We are dog friendly

All (well-behaved!) dogs are more than welcome on board the boat and in the museum. We even sell vanilla dog ice-cream to treat them with in our café after your trip!

Quayside Exhibition: Little Ship. Big History.

Alongside the boat trips, make sure you see our quayside exhibition about Queen Boadicea II (QBII). Learn about her amazing past that includes a royal connection, war-time bravery and a trailblazing 1930s businesswoman.

At our outdoor exhibition, Little Ship. Big History, you’ll explore the stories of two fascinating people who played a big part in QBll’s history.

Accessibility

The boat can accommodate up to four manual wheelchairs on the outside, upper deck. Electric wheelchairs cannot be taken on board due to the limitations of the boat space and the ability to get electric wheelchair users on/off the boat in the event of an emergency. We have one manual wheelchair in the museum available for visitors to use on a first-come first-served basis. Please give us a call on 01452 915676 for more information.

Meet Queen Boadicea II, Dunkirk Little Ship

Built in 1936 as a Thames pleasure boat, Queen Boadicea II played her part in the Second World War as one of the Dunkirk Little Ships. She saw action in Dunkirk harbour where she evacuated many stranded soldiers.

After the war she returned to passenger service on the Thames. After working for some time on the River Dart, QBII came to Gloucester where she continues to work as a pleasure boat, carrying visitors along the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. She is listed on the National Historic Ships Register.
