Jonathan Goldberg Photography Exhibition
Jonathan Goldberg was selected as the Resident Photographer with the Canal & River Trust in 2019 and we are delighted to be displaying some of his collection.
Throughout his residency he was drawn to certain stretches of canal whose wider areas have undergone a renaissance in recent years.
These included Hackney Wick, which in summer resembles a kind of hipster riviera, attracting large numbers of young artists and professionals to its floating bars and grass verges.
On his travels, Jonathan found a sense of calm about all of the canal destinations he visited, compared to the more frantic pace of the city centres, which are often just a stone’s throw away. This applies to Victoria Quays (above) in Sheffield, a destination he visited at the time of its bicentury celebrations.
Visit the museum during the summer months to view more stunning images like these. Admission to the exhibition is included in the museum entry.
