For the last 42 years, the colourful spectacle of the Easter Boat Gathering has marked the unofficial start to our season. The 43rd event, full of boats, music and more will continue this grand tradition.
Tens of boats will moor up across the museum’s seven-acre site. While boaters catch up on news museum visitors can stroll along the waterside, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a rare chance to get up close to beautiful historic vessels, lovingly restored by dedicated owners.
Music is an integral part of canal heritage and plays a major part in the long weekend, with some of finest folk artists planned.
On Saturday evening, join Port Sunlight Sea Dogs and Gerry Ffrench for an evening of shanties and songs of river and sea, along with Celtic inspired folk & roots.
As well as the boats and the music the Easter Boat Gathering will be packed with inspirational workshops tours and museum activities for all ages.
Please keep an eye on this page for more information of confirmed acts and activities.
