Join the Hinterlands Wales team at Party in the Park this summer to celebrate the first phase of the Hinterlands project on the Mon & Brec Canal.
Pontypool's annual festival includes a packed music and dance line-up, story tellers, arts and crafts, play activities for children, farm animals, sports, food stalls, a dog show and a large fun fair.
Throughout the afternoon, Mr and Mrs Clark will be performing a new work with contributions from Pontypool residents and canal lovers* and the Hinterlands team will be resident in the horsebox studio, sharing the work that artists and communities have done during phase 1.
We’ll also be launching our new map of the Mon & Brec Canal, featuring the groups we’ve been working with over the past few months as well as special places and landmarks chosen by the residents of this lovely stretch.
Festival hours: 11am - 5pm
Mr and Mrs Clark performances: on the half hour 12.30 - 3.30pm
*The performance duo will be gathering stories and material from local residents on 23 June in the run-up to festival. Join them at Pontymoile Basin and other canal-side locations on this day to contribute to this evolving performance.
The event is free and all are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
