Learn about the rich industrial past of Ellesmere Port on our cruise of the Shropshire Union Canal, followed by a guided tour of the museum and a special Fathers Day lunch.
Float along the Shropshire Union Canal and learn about Ellesmere Port’s rich industrial past on this family friendly cruise.
Next stop is our fun filled tour of our National Waterways Museum’s enormous steam engine in action, followed by a visit to our worker’s cottages which serve as fascinating time capsule into the lives of those who worked on the docks in the industrial age.
We'll then visit the archive, which stores thousands of memories, photographs and relics of Ellesmere Port’s interesting past.
The grand tour finale will be a lock demonstration displaying the revolutionary engineering that enabled the UK’s waterways to thrive, which is always a hit with big kids and families.
The afternoon will end with a delicious lunch in our Boat Yard Café. Afterwards you are welcome to go off and explore the rest of the museum and historic docks.
