Montgomery Canal heritage discovery walk

Following last year’s successful programme of walks, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the new season starts with a 2 hour walk to have a look at some of our rich canal heritage.

between Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn on the B4568. SY16 2TH (for rough indication as the car park is on the B4568 itself.)

Come and join us on this medium ability circular walk, which will incorporate part of the Severn Way. After a slight ascend to take in lovely views, we will make our way to Freestone lock and Penarth Weir. Suitable footwear recommended as it could be muddy.

This walk is offered in partnership with The Friends of the Montgomery Canal.

Meeting point: Coming from Newtown, there is a small car park on your right just before Llanllwchaiarn church yard.
